Meet V.I.C.K.I.

Very Intelligent Companion Keeping Interface

V.I.C.K.I. is not a voice assistant. She's not a chatbot. She's not a remote-controlled system with a human operator watching through her eyes.

V.I.C.K.I. is a fully autonomous AI built on a hybrid Large Reasoning Model and Large Language Model architecture — powered by IBM Granite 4.0. She reasons before she responds. She runs entirely on-device. She works without internet. And she is purpose-built for the people that cloud-dependent, teleoperated robotics systems structurally cannot serve.

Why Edge-Native Matters

The Cloud Is a Wall
for the People We Serve.

Hospitals have HIPAA requirements that cloud robotics can't meet. Rural schools have internet connections that drop. Low-income homes have bandwidth caps. And for users with disabilities whose robot is in the room with them — the idea of a remote human operator watching through its camera is a privacy violation by design.

Edge-native autonomy isn't a technical preference. For our users, it's a requirement. V.I.C.K.I. was built around that requirement from day one.

Custom Hardware

The Dash R-1 —
A Logic Board Built for the Mission.

The Dash R-1 is Stim Factory's custom logic board — not an Arduino, not a Raspberry Pi, not a development kit. It's a purpose-built, self-contained ecosystem designed for edge-native AI autonomy out of the box.

It combines two critical systems on one board:

Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano

AI Inference

Handles AI inference locally, running V.I.C.K.I.'s reasoning and language models on-device with CUDA acceleration. No cloud. No latency from a round trip to a server.

TI RM46x MCU

Safety-Critical Control

A safety-certified microcontroller (IEC 61508) that handles real-time safety-critical control, entirely separate from the AI layer. The same safety standard used in medical devices and automotive systems.

This isn't accidental architecture. Separating AI inference from safety-critical control is how you build a robot you can trust around vulnerable users. The Dash R-1 is targeted for completion Q2 2026.
